Queríamos iniciar este espacio abordando un tema de verdad excepcional pero al parecer no teníamos inspiración para ello, de tal forma nos inspiramos en hablar de la cosa más excepcional en las artes: la inspiración. We wanted to initiate this space talking about some really exceptional subject but discovered we had no inspiration at all to do so, that inspired us to talk about the most exceptional thing in art: inspiration.

¿Cuántos no se han preguntado a si mismos sobre “el qué crear”? ¿Cuántos no se han visto emocionados de un momento a otro por engendrar algo que nunca habían hecho? ¡La inspiración! Un devenir pasajero que te llena de emociones y sensaciones capaces de ser plasmadas en arte. Eventualmente escuchamos comentarios como: “encontró su musa, descubrió la inspiración mientras dormía, el dolor fue el catalizador de aquella obra maestra”, o para usted de contar sobre frases al respecto pero ¿Cuántos nos hemos puesto a pensar que hay detrás de todo aquello? ¡El arte conlleva un proceso de creación diluido en una serie de pasos que ocurren consciente o inconscientemente en los artistas que lo crean! De cualquier modo es difícil negar que dicho arte es hermoso de per se.

Which artists haven't asked themselves about "what to create"? How many haven't found themselves emotional from a moment to another after creating something they've never done before? Inspiration! A brief progress that fills you with sensations and feelings capable to be expressed in art. Eventually we hear comments such as: "the muse appeared, finally discovered inspiration, pain was a key element to bring that masterpiece to life", insert any other phrase you have been told, but how many times have you stopped to think what it's really like everything that happens behind art process? Art comes with a creation process that is diluted in various stages that occur in a conscious or unconscious way on artists! Un any way it's hard to deny that said process is beautiful per se.

Cuando creamos arte iniciamos por un detonante natural que bien puede ser un acontecer, una emoción, algo que vimos en algún lado, algo que escuchamos, probamos o hasta tocamos, la inspiración de tal manera viene dada como un proceso vinculado a uno o varios de los sentidos del ser humano y expresado mediante algún tipo de composición que busque satisfacer alguno de estos sentidos. En tal forma, siendo el arte una expresión sensorial del ser, debemos aprender a descubrir sobre el “dónde y cómo inspirarse”.

When we create art we start by a natural push that could be an event, an emotion, something we saw somewhere, something we heard, tasted or even touched, in that way inspiration comes to us as a process linked to one or many of our senses and is expressed through some type of composition that satisfies any of those senses. That said, art being a sensorial expression of ourselves, we must learn how to discover inspiration, when and where to get inspired.

¿Dónde se encuentra la inspiración? | Where do we find inspiration?

Como artistas debemos estar estimulados para crear arte, es por esto que debemos plantearnos dos situaciones: - La primera: observar arte. - La segunda: aprender del arte. Muchos artistas prefieren no adentrarse en este apartado y encerrarse en un claustro esperando que las ideas “originales” surjan, pero a veces hay que darse un golpe contra la realidad y entender que el arte siempre va a estar direccionado a poseer elementos de otros artistas, o como lo llamaremos acá “referentes”. Es así como, aunque decidamos de un momento a otro pensar en no observar arte para crear arte, de igual forma estaremos influenciados por un ápice de cultural que nos fue entregado durante un largo periodo de nuestras vidas y que va a ser el impulsor de nuestras obras o del estilo que en ellas vayamos a plasmar. Podríamos decir que hay referentes artísticos plasmados en nuestro ADN mediante un concepto que en psicología se denomina “memoria genética”. Una vez se entiende esto podemos proceder a aprender del arte, es en este momento en el cual activamos nuestros sentidos y los ajustamos de acuerdo al tipo de arte que tengamos frente a nosotros.

As artists our minds have to get stimulation to create art, for that reason we have to face two possible situations: - Fist one: observe art. - Second: learn from art. Many artists rather not to dwelve on this subject and lock up themselves waiting for "original" ideas to appear, but sometimes we have to deal with the fact that art will always address elements from other artists work, or "mentors" as we call it here. In that way, even though we decide not to observe art to create art, we will be influenced anyway by an ounce of artistic culture that was given to us for a long period of our lives and it's going to be the fuel of our works or the style we put on them. We could even say those mentors coexist in our DNA through a concept known in psychology as "genetic memory". Once understand we can proveedor to learn from art, in that moment we dedicate to activate our senses and adjust them accordingly to the form of art we have in front of us.

Música, danza, teatro, arquitectura, literatura, cine, escultura, pintura… no importa de qué tipo de arte se trate, siempre debemos tener una visión de cómo construyeron su arte otros artistas en el pasado y así saber hacia dónde direccionar el arte propio para asi tener nuevos conceptos en lo que deseamos crear.

¿Qué hay del plagio? | What about plagiarism?

El miedo común de todo artista viene dado por esta interrogante. Cuando ya hemos comprendido la importancia de observar arte ajeno tienden a ocurrírsenos miles de ideas nuevas que resultan frescas pero a su vez el temor nos invade y nos damos cuenta que nuestro propio arte puede llegar a parecerse a él de alguno de nuestros referentes o incluso peor, que alguien en la actualidad se le haya ocurrido lo mismo. De tal forma tendemos a buscar en google sobre el tema y observar como existen miles de concepciones artísticas muy parecidas a lo que tenías pensado y volvemos a ese círculo de encierro en el que no queremos saber nada de agentes externos para no sentir que el arte que creamos es un plagio de algo ya existente. Debemos recordar que no es nada raro que la idea se le ocurra a dos personas o más; considerando que existen aproximadamente 10.000 millones de habitantes a nivel mundial, olvídate de pensar que tu serás el único en crear ese tipo de contenido, puedes llamarlo almas gemelas, energías, mandato divino o como prefieras, pero, la “idea recurrente” suele ser producto de creación para miles de obras a nivel mundial. There's a common fear in all artists regarding that question. When we already understand the importance of observing others art we get a tendency to have millions of ideas that seem fresh but at the same time fear invades us and we realize our own art can share similarities to our mentors work or even worst, that somebody else had the same idea. That leads us to search on Google about the subject and see how there are many other artistic conceptions alike to what we had in mind and we go back to that circle of isolation where we don't allow any external agents so we don't feel there's plagiarism to something already existing on what we've created. We must remember there's nothing weird about an idea occurring to two people or more considering there are approximately 10 million inhabitants in the world, so stop thinking you'll be the only one creating one type of content, call it soulmates, energies, divine mandate, or what you prefer, but the "recurring idea" is most likely a product of creation for many other works worldwide.

Ahora bien, debemos pensar que aunque la idea recurrente sea básicamente la misma, lo que definirá nuestro arte es el norte al que lo llevemos y el cómo interpretemos esas sensaciones en nuestro organismo para plasmarlo en una obra maestra. La única forma de que realmente sea considerado un plagio es que en vez de tomar una idea recurrente, tomes una idea personal, con esto nos referimos a casos como el de tomar una historia o una canción por ejemplo y simplemente cambiarle el nombre a algunos personajes o las palabras de la canción conservando la pista musical. En este caso si podríamos considerar que más que inspirarte estas robando la creación ajena. En pocas palabras, no importa si ya existió o si se crea al mismo tiempo dicho arte mediante una idea recurrente, a fin de cuentas ninguno de los dos estará escrito, cantado, bailado, pintado o construido de la misma manera que tú lo hiciste. Intentar crear algo completamente nuevo es sencillamente imposible considerando los elementos similares que puedan contener las obras artísticas en general.

However, we must also know that even though the recurring idea could be basically the same, what would define our art it's the North we gave it and how we interpret those sensations in our organism to express them in art form. The only way to really consider something plagiarism is that instead of taking a recurring idea, you take a more personal idea, with this we refer to cases like taking out the words of a story or a song and just make little changes on details like names keeping the same musical track and calling it your own, for example. More than taking inspiration you'll be stealing someone else's creation. In a few words, it doesn't matter if something already existed or it was created simultaneously using the same concept, at the end of the day neither of them will be written, sung, danced, painted or constructed the same way you made it. To try and create something completely new is nearly impossible considering similar elements contained in artistic works in general.

Técnicas para organizar tus ideas. | Techniques to organize your ideas.

Hemos aprendido la importancia de sentir el arte y como puede ser usada a nuestro favor sin resultar un plagio. Ahora bien, también hemos hablado en un principio de como los artistas creaban contenidos de una manera más inconsciente que conscientes de sí mismos durante este proceso, sin embargo existen técnicas que pueden ayudarte a ser una persona más creativa y saber afianzar las ideas resultantes de la inspiración.

We have learned the importance of feeling art and how can se use it in our favour without it being plagiarism. That said, we have also talked about since the beginning how artists create in such a way that is more unconscious than conscious about themselves during that process, however there are some techniques that can be helpful in becoming a more creative person and reinforce the ideas resulting from inspiration.

^{Informarse: debemos tener información al respecto de lo que queremos crear, mientras más sepamos del tema mas fácil nos será desarrollar una idea. Expresar en tal forma sobre un aspecto debe ser visto en sus sentidos filosóficos, históricos, plásticos, lúdicos, tradicionales, culturales, entre otros, que permitan saber a dónde dirigir la inspiración.

Research: we have to be informed about what we want to create, the more knowledge about a subject should make it easier to develop an idea. Expressing in that way about a subject should be seen on all philosophical, historical, plastic, ludical, traditional, cultural and any other aspects that let us choose where to direct our inspiration.

Estimularse: como decíamos en un principio, es necesario buscar referentes artísticos para saber que queremos crear. No necesariamente si vamos a crear una pintura, por ejemplo, tenemos que ver otra pintura. Podemos de tal forma escuchar una canción, ver una película, observar un grupo de danza o explorar en toda la majestuosidad de las artes un punto que nos de ese estímulo creativo a la hora de fomentar la inspiración.

Stimulate: as we said on the beginning, it is necessary to look yo for mentors to know what we want to create. You don't necessarily have to look at paintings if you want to paint, for example. You can listen to a song, watch a movie, see a group of people dancing or explore the endless possibilities of arts until you reach a point that gives you that motivation you were looking for.

Idearse: “Casa vomitiva” ¿Suena extraño no? Pero a veces unir temas o palabras sin ningún sentido aparente puede servir para tener una base con la cual desarrollar la idea. Atreverse a pensar cosas completamente sin sentido. Si nos vamos al pasado, podemos observar que artistas de siglos se idearon obras artísticas partiendo de conceptos que estaban muy apartados a los de su época resultando en creaciones artísticas completamente frescas.

Come up with ideas: "Sickening House" sounds weird, isn't it? But sometimes sticking together words or themes that don't make sense can be helpful in having a basis to develop your ideas. Dare to think outside of the box. If we research on the past, there were artists from centuries ago that conceived masterpieces parting from ideas too far fetched from their time and resulted in success.

Observarse: no solamente debemos ver la idea desde un punto de vista, siempre podemos pensar ¿Cómo lo ve el joven, el adulto, el abuelo? ¿Qué podrá sentir una persona que este feliz o que esté triste? o ¿Qué emoción sentirá una persona que acaba de pasar bajo una situación en particular? Si tu idea creativa la miras desde varios puntos de vista podrás darle un significado completamente nuevo a la idea recurrente.

Analyze yourself: you don't have to look at something from one side only, we can always think, how it is seen by someone younger, or an adult, or an elder? What would a person who is happy or sad feel? Or what emotion could we get from a person that feels identified by something in particular? If you look at your idea from many different sides you can give it a whole new meaning.

Reformularse: siempre puedes jugar con el significado de lo que quieres dar. Existen símbolos y lenguajes artísticos que pueden ser transformados para dar resultado a un mensaje completamente nuevo.

Reformulate: Also you can always play with the meaning you want to give. There are symbolisms and artistic languages that can be translated to bring as a result new messages.

Hemos aprendido que la inspiración es un proceso que puede ser llevado a cabo de una manera consciente siempre y cuando apliquemos ciertas técnicas que permitan hacernos llegar de una forma más viable a ella. Podemos hacer de nuestras ideas todo un mundo siempre y cuando sepamos a donde direccionarlo. No tengamos miedo a creer y a crear, sintamos de tal forma el trabajo de nuestros predecesores y aprendamos a darle un sentido nuevo a nuestro arte. ¡Inspirarte!

Let's create! We have learned that inspiration is a process that can be carried out in a conscious way as long as we apply certain techniques to reach it on a simpler way.
