There has been a lot of talks about capitalising on the low price of steem. The slogan has been: buy now and gain later. I also wrote an article about this and even went a step forward to purchase 5steem from a friend (Yeah, it's not much but that's worth I can afford). Although I do not have sufficient disposal income at the moment to buy as much as possible, I still want to cease this opportunity, not because I want to sell later in the future. Every steem I have earned so far from my three weeks on this platform, I have converted to steem power. My goal was to buy 5steem every week and power up until I have a total of 100SP. But today I called my friend who helped me buy steem some days back and he told me that many people are unwilling to sell due to the low price. This is however contrary to the widespread view held by many steemians these past view days that people are powering down and selling.
So I ask:
If people aren't selling, how do other people buy?
I stand to be corrected, but there seem to be high demand for steem at this moment. But if this demand isn't met adequately would this not lead to a surge in the price of steem. My senses are tingling. But I will leave my conspiracy theory to mine.
So now, there is a slight change in my plan. I will have to do things the hard way for now. When I say the hard way I mean by commenting, upvoting, and creating new content, which is basically what steemit is all about, but you will agree with me that is a lower process in becoming influencial on this platform compared to investing your money in purchasing steem, which gives you a higher stake and visibility on the platform. But I guess this is the path for me, and it's not a bad thing per se. Through the gradual process of climbing the ladder of influence I will learn to appreciate the steemit community. I've come in contact with some amazing people during this ongoing process, and I must say that it has impacted me positively.
Well, if I can find another way of purchasing steem I would, but for now, like I said, it is all about engagement.
