It looks like X8currency is the project of Facebook.

X8 started their project of first world value preservation currency at the same time media outlets were throwing the rumors that Facebook was thinking about crypto project in late of 2017.

The x8currency promised its users, during ICO that, the release of the product in 2018, but after that a delay has taken place and without any explanation as if something(wrong or big) has happened.. After that they re-edited roadmap to deliver by the end of 2018 but again they delayed one more time without explanation again.. and we are now in 2019 still waiting for another delay...

Why I think X8currency has Facebook as a partner:

Recently, a BBC report about Facebook stablecoin declared the release date of the product is Q1 2020 but the testings should start by the end of this year. (this details just tells us that the X8currency product release is until 2020 too)

It is planning to set up a digital payments system in about a dozen countries by the first quarter of 2020.

In the same report, BBC describes how this stablecoin is going to work systematically:

It is believed that Facebook and its partners want to prevent wild swings in the coin's value by pegging it to a basket of established currencies, including the US dollar, euro and Japanese yen.

From the above reference, it is very clear now that Facebook is building Value Preservation Currency that fights against inflation just like X8currency(X8C).

In last month, the media reported that Facebook registered the project Libra in Switzerland, and as an American company, why would Facebook choose this country specifically? the answer is, there, X8currency registered too.

In the last Nov, the CEO of X8 project Gregor Koželj contacted his investors in Telegram and promised that it will never be forgotten and it will continue, he closed his words with you have our word.

The project "Libra" has no dot com website. Globalcoin too has no do com which means the name neither on of the mentioned two.

Facebook is building full ecosystem and that what's x8currency doing too.
