Desde diciembre estaba pendiente de que el 19 de enero cumpliría yo 7 años en esta plataforma, pero una gripe severa que me agarró a comienzos de este año, me desconectó de todo y de no ser por el sistema de notificaciones de @hivebuzz, no me hubiera acordado. Aunque mi idea era hacer muchas cosas para celebrar este aniversario, al menos quiero hacer este post para traer algunas cosas a la memoria y dejar escritas una que otra reflexión acerca de este septenio.

Since December I was aware that on January 19th I would be 7 years on this platform, but a severe flu that caught me at the beginning of this year disconnected me from everything and if it weren't for the @hivebuzz notification system, I wouldn't have remembered. Although my idea was to do many things to celebrate this anniversary, at least I want to make this post to bring some things to memory and leave some reflections about this septennium.

# Entrar al mundo cripto Sin duda que el mayor logro de haber dado el paso de crear mi cuenta el 19 de enero de 2018, fue haberme acercado, aunque con gran escepticismo, al mundo de las criptomonedas. Aunque ya hacía tiempo venía escuchando del tema, mi decisión vino motivada por el hecho de poder publicar contenido en una plataforma en la que mis textos quedaran allí para siempre, sin censura y que, además, pudiera generarme algún ingreso.

# Entering the crypto world Undoubtedly the greatest achievement of having taken the step of creating my account on January 19, 2018, was to have approached, albeit with great skepticism, the world of cryptocurrencies. Although I had been hearing about it for some time, my decision was motivated by the fact of being able to publish content on a platform where my texts would remain there forever, uncensored and that, in addition, could generate me some income.

# ¿Comprensión de qué? En esa época no había a quién preguntarle mucho, pues no había quien supiera. Así que sin haber entendido aún, me vi en la necesidad, al igual que varios otros amigos, de empezar a enseñar lo muy poco que íbamos aprendiendo. Seguíamos sin comprender de qué se trataba todo y cómo funcionaba, pero ya teníamos algunas herramientas para ir ayudando a otros a no tener los mismos tropiezos que habíamos tenido los primeros que empezamos (que no fueron pocos). De las cosas que sí comprendí, es que había que ayudar a los demás, que había que "crear comunidad" y crea herramientas de crecimiento y apoyo para la comunidad hispanohablante, que iba creciendo de manera desmedida. A esa tarea me dediqué y siento que fue lo correcto. Hoy en día muchas cosas han cambiado, pero estoy seguro de que todos esos cambios positivos que ha habido, son el resultado de esa labor que hicimos todos aquellos precursores, entre los cuales me cuento.

So, without having understood yet, I felt the need, along with several other friends, to start teaching the little we were learning. We still did not understand what it was all about and how it worked, but we already had some tools to help others not to have the same stumbling blocks that we had had when we first started (which were not few). One of the things I did understand was that we had to help others, that we had to “create community” and create tools for growth and support for the Spanish-speaking community, which was growing at an excessive rate. I dedicated myself to that task and I feel it was the right thing to do. Today many things have changed, but I am sure that all those positive changes that have taken place are the result of the work done by all those precursors, among whom I count myself.

# El tiempo pasa En estos años son muchos los cambios (incluyendo el nombre de la plataforma y su esencia, que cambió en 2020), proyectos tan poderosos como @cervantes han desaparecido, personajes que hicieron mucho ruido hasta caer en el silencio total y proyectos pequeños que crecieron y se han desarrollado contra viento y marea. Otro cambio importante son las nuevas responsabilidades que muchos hemos asumido y con ello también la aparición de nuevas caras y nuevos proyectos. Entre todo eso, el mayor triunfo es seguir acá y seguir creando contenido, seguir impulsando proyectos de apoyo a nuestra comunidad de habla hispana y a todo el ecosistema que es Hive hoy en día. # Time goes by In these years there are many changes (including the name of the platform and its essence, which changed in 2020), projects as powerful as @cervantes have disappeared, characters that made a lot of noise until falling into total silence and small projects that grew and have developed against all odds. Another important change is the new responsibilities that many of us have taken on and with that also the emergence of new faces and new projects. Among all that, the greatest triumph is to continue here and continue creating content, and continue promoting projects to support our Spanish-speaking community and the entire ecosystem that is Hive today.
