SIN2 stands for steem(it) in Nigeria2 and this is the second year of running this event. This event, which has focused on creating sustainable growth on the African continent and creating investment opportunities for investors on the blockchain. The steem blockchain with its unlimited potentials, provide the best opportunities for almost all sorts of investment avenues.

With the launch of the Smart Media Tokens around the corner, we believe it is time to put Nigeria and Africa by extension on the blockchain train. With a population of hundreds of millions, Nigeria can offer so much more than numbers, we can offer "figures" which can add to the overall growth of the steem blockchain. Figures here do not solely represent population (although we also aim at bringing in that too), we also aim at bringing in actual investors over a period of time.

Understanding the blockchain needs has always been a top priority for the movement and as such, we have always prided ourselves on being the project known for its consistency when it comes to the quality of delivery. What started as an idea by @ehiboss,has grabbed the hearts and minds of Nigerians, Africans and steemians from the world over, people with a view to maximizing the growth potentials of the steem blockchain.

This is beyond an empowerment movement, it is an umbrella of actual change and genuine growth, with a touch of dedication to steem looking beyond it as a currency, rather as a language and culture which can be adopted by all around the world and creating a foreseeable future where a quick glance at coinmarketcap will reveal a steem dominance in the shortest time possible. Steem has shown a resilience, surviving everything thrown at it and this even makes it a reason why it can not only become one of the best, rather the best out there.

What started as a blockchain with a social media site has grown to show potentials to be so much more and the Steem(it) in Nigeria movement has and will always be a part of it. Last year, we created a spark for Nigerians through the SIN1 programme and the sucess of the movement actually sparked a fire which has been never ending till date. This year, in a bid to do more and be more, we are taking the fight to the Federal Capial Territory, Abuja to be pricise. Afterall, if the mountain does not go to Mohammed, Mohammed will go to the mountain.

This year, from October 30th till November 4th, come and witness an event for steem, promoting steem like never before and for everything steem. Unlike general conferences where it is more of a blockchain project competition, this is a steem event, focused on steem growth, for all things steem.

Work done

The first thing done was more of take a step back and re-evaluate what the platform needed for the growth of steem. We decided on three things:

- Communities

- Population

- Investors/investments

The first step was to reach out to some communities and accept the reach-out by several other communities to us. We need to build stronger, bigger and better communities on the blockchain because we can get there together not alone. So far, we have gotten across to these communities;

With also strategic partnerships from @steemexchanger and @airhawk-project, this proves to be a step in the right direction.

The population base of the social media site on the blockchain (steemit) has always been a priority to us and as such, we do not believe in a policy of just amassing numbers, we believe in providing the blockchain with the right kind of people it needs. People with talents and specific skill sets to diversify and grow. There are services like d.tube and dlive.io who require users who vlog daily, the main steemit site, which requires active bloggers, dsound which requires people who are tunes to all things audio.

These are but a few things we can achieve working together. The plan is to build and recruit more people who are talented in various fields of life and offload them on the blockchain.

Investors and investments has always been a core part of the plan. The truth is, we need to also contribute our own quota to the growth of the blockchain and pull our own weight. This time around, we want to move beyond talk, we want to act on it and the time is now!

What do we need?
Support is never too much. We have budgeted about $9,000 for the success of this event, and we cannot come to the table empty handed. We have generated over 1,100 steem so far and more is needed towards the success of this event.
