Witnesses on the Steem blockchain can make a lot of money fairly easily... so it's important for the witnesses in the Top 20 to show that they're working hard to expand the Steem Blockchain and add value.
@followbtcnews is a witness sitting at 16th spot, and yesterday announced the release of Steem Tippers in this post.
SteemTippers is a way to tip users on other social media platforms like Twitter. If someone answers a question for you or puts out a hilarious tweet, you can tip them some Steem.
It does cost any fees. The Steem sits in their SteemTipper account until they either tip someone else with it or set up their own Steem account. This app alone could bring thousands of people to the Steem Blockchain.
To use, merely send a tweet following the format below: @steemtipper tip {recipients twitter handle} {amount of Steem} {message if you want}
